I signed up for College Prep simply because I want to be prepared for college. I hope to learn how to write a great essay that will help me into the college of my choice. I hope I will be able to keep up with all the reading assignments, because it has been troublesome when I've fallen behind in the past. My first choice school is Lewis & Clark in Portland, and my second choice school is Seattle University. Although I'm not sure what I want to major in, I'm eager to study Sociology, Philosophy, Psychology, History, and Theology.
ReplyDeleteI'll be honest, this class was not my first choice english class. I was originally signed up for AP english, but had to drop it due to scheduling problems. I have to say though, after my first day in college prep, I don't think it's going to be that big of a deal. I'm sure that I'll enjoy this class just as much. From college prep, I'm hoping that I'll learn how to better handle myself in college, which I'm sure is one of everyone's goals here. In the future I want to major in veterinary medicine, so I'm shooting to get into WSU because they have an excellent program there.
ReplyDeleteI signed up for this class because I want to show people me without showing off. I'm not a showoffish person at all, even if I seem as though I am sometimes. I hope to be able to make my essays stand out and make the transition from high school to college courses a little smoother. My goals in the future are to have a degree something to do with human health, like a personal trainer, massage therapist or something of that sort. But my real dream is to become a large animal vet, so I'm aiming to go to WSU for at least my undergraduate degree, than possibly transfer to Cornell University, another vet college or stay at WSU.
ReplyDeleteOther colleges might be University of Tennessee, North Carolina State, and a variety of others.
I chose this class because I want to improve on my essays and get a taste of what an English class in college would be like. I'm naturally good with numbers so I feel like I should focus on strengthening my writing skills this year. One thing I'm worried about is falling behind on reading because if I'm not interested in a book I struggle to finish it. One college I'm thinking of is the UW because I'm interested in a career of architecture or structural engineering.
ReplyDeleteOriginaly I signed up for Contemporary issues with Mrs.Traxler, but due to scheduling problems this was the class that was avaliable. I think this class will be a challenge for me but I am ready to work hard and prepare for college classes. This year I hope to improve my writing skills and be able to better comprehend the books we read in class. Western Washington University is my first choice school where I plan on studing Marine Biology/Environmental sciences.
ReplyDeleteI signed up for this class because I knew as a freshman in college you are required to take math and english the first year at college, and I thought this class would prepare me for college english. I hope to learn how to really understand shakespear's passages. I hope to not learn anything boring. I plan to become a registered dietician and attend either SPU or Central.
ReplyDeleteI signed up for college prep because I hoped it would better prepare me for my upcoming years in college. I wanted this class to help me make my college essays the best they could possibly be. I hope to learn how to take a better approach towards essays and other writing assignments that I will be faced with in the future. I hope not to feel overwhelmed with too much reading at once because I can better enjoy the books we read this way. For the future, I am looking at Cal Poly San Louis Obispo, University of Washington, Seattle University, and possibly some other colleges up here. I hope to major in visual communication and graphic design and possibly go to a design school after my first four years in college.

I signed up for college prep because I want to prepared for college essays. I hope I learn how to write good essay that will help me to get in college of my choice. And also, I hope I get better at writting essays, cause english isn't my strongest subject. I really hope I don't get behind in reading books and not able to participate in class discussion. My top four choices of colleges are UW, WSU, WWU and CWU. I wanna major in accounting, business.
ReplyDeleteI came to WHS from an Independent Study program through Cedar Park Christian School. So for all my classes I pretty much had to teach myself everything since I only saw my advisor twice a week. That's a reason I chose to take college prep english class. I know that this class will be challenging and considering the name of the class I think it will really help prepare for college. I'm excited to read the One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest because that has been one of my favorite books for a couple of years now. English has always been one of my favorite classes so I'm not really afraid of falling behind or anything. My original plans were to go to a 2 yr college before going into a university because when it comes to what I want to do I'm really all over the place. I've always wanted to be an elementry school teacher, but I also want to be a high school Counsler or part of the CPS. And I really want to own a Dance studio. So I have a lot of work to do trying to narrow all of those down to one career path. If I do choose to go straight into a university rather than going into a 2yr school first my top five are U of Miami,UW, WWU, WSU & U of San Francisco
ReplyDeleteMr. Molitor, along with several other motives, was the reason I signed up for College Prep English. I remember looking my options in order to fulfill my English credit and being utterly confused about what half the courses were, so I simply asked Mr. Molitor and he pointed me in the direction of College Prep. I hope this class teaches me how to better explain myself in fewer words throughout my writing, I aspire to become a quicker writer, and I’d to be better prepared for English at the college level. I hope this class is more than learning how to write essay after essay. My plans for the future include attending a four year university; among my favorites are Whitman, Linfield, Redlands, Pacific Lutheran, and the infamous University of Washington. My goal is to major in Biology while attending a school with a good Liberal Arts or Pre-Med program.

I signed up for college prep to get the best preparation for college level english without killing myself in AP english. I hope to better my analytical skills and the flow of my writing, and i would like do so without spending all my free time working on it. I have my heart set on going to Gonzaga University and I plan on majoring in some sort of business, perhaps international business or economics.
ReplyDeleteApril Dick
I signed up for college to prepare myself for writing at the college level. I hope this class will help struture my ideas and flow througout my writing, all while staying on topic. I hope that I dont forget to do my blogs. I would like to play baseball in college. Aside from that WSU, UW and Seattle U are at the top of my list for schools. I plan on majoring in business/marketing and minor in fashion.
ReplyDeleteI'm very excited to learn how to write an effective essay, the summer reading assignment only made me more enthusiastic to be in this class. I hope I don't struggle with keeping up with the reading, but I don't think that'll happen. I've always loved working with younger kids, so my plans are to major in elementary education and maybe minor in psychology. UW and WWU are my favorites when it comes to schools, but I'd be happy with WSU or CWU also.
ReplyDeleteIn all honesty, I signed up for College Prep English because Contemporary Issues didn’t fit in my schedule. I think it worked out for the better because I feel that College Prep will help me make a better transition into college level English. I hope that in this class I will learn how to write a great college application essay. I realize that is a short term goal, but it is of high importance to me right now. I also hope that this class won’t turn into that period that I dread coming into, or get the most homework from. My plans for the future are to get into a four year university, and from there figure out what I want to major in, and discover what my interest are career-wise. Currently, I am thinking of applying to SPU or some other school within Washington. Fortunately I still have a little bit of time to make up my mind on where I will be applying.

I signed up for college prep mainly because I felt it would give me a better understanding of the English language at the college level. I was going to sign up for humanities, but with my hockey being on weekends I felt like I wouldn’t have time for the shows. I hope that I can come out of this class with the knowledge to do well in college. After this school year I hope to pursue hockey and play in the BCHL or USHL and then after that get a scholarship to a D-1 school. I’m going to apply to Western while I see what happens with my hockey so I have a backup plan. I am going to major in electrical engineering or another type of science.
ReplyDeleteNik Toor
I originally wanted to take humanities, but I thought that college prep would help to better prepare me for college and the real world. I hope that this class will help me to write better essays and help me to analyze books better in the future. I hope that I won’t get an overwhelming amount of homework in this class. In the future I want to own a high end clothing store and continue to compete around the world in my horse riding competitions. After high school I am planning on going to Western Washington University to get some kind of degree in business.
ReplyDeleteTori Weisel
I chose to take College Prep English because I felt it would be the most interesting and practical of the English classes. I hope to improve my ability to analyze literature and my writing skills. I'm also hoping that the books we read in this class won't be boring. I have yet to find my calling; although a career in marketing or science seems interesting at the moment, I will take time to explore my options before committing. I plan on going to an in-state university and will apply to schools such as the University of Washington, Washington State University, Western Washington University, and Central Washington University.
ReplyDeleteDerek Decker
I signed up for College Prep because I wanted to take an English class that would help prepare me for college, but not one as rigorous as AP English. I hope this class will teach me how to write more effectively as well as analyze literature with greater accuracy, but without the busywork of other English classes. In the future I would like to become a veterinarian, so I will major in pre-veterinary medicine at Washington State University, Oregon State University, or Colorado State University.
ReplyDeleteSavannah Guillen
I signed up for College Prep because I needed an english class that would help prep me for writing those college essays and for improving my writing for college. I hope to learn more about my writing style and how to improve it and how to just become a better writer overall. What i hope wont happen is for me to be forced to change my writing style because i may not be correct or the best. My plans for the future are to become an engineer and either work in space or as a special effects designer, ie. Mythbusters. Im applying to, University of Washington, USC, UCLA, University of Arizona, Texas A&M, University of Colorado @ Boulder and Oregon State University. I hope to double major in Mechanical and Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering and Minor in Math.

I'll be honest, i didn't sign up for college prep. Contemporary issues didn't fit into my schedule, so this was my next choice. But after recieveing my schedule, i realized this was probably best for me. I really need the help on my college essays, so i'm glad i was put into this class. I am very excited about the amount of time we will be spending working on college essays, and i hope this will help me get into the college of my choice. The colleges I am really looking into right now are Oregon State, and University of Oregon. And I am hoping to go into nursing, and study psychology. I am very excited about this year!
ReplyDeleteI signed up for college prep this year because I wanted to have an edge for writing my college application essay. I am hoping that I will get tips on how to make my essay stand out amongst all the other essays that will be read. I hope that we will not be too swamped with long, heavy readings. My top colleges are the University of Washington, the University of Oregon, and Western University. I want to major in biology or another health based science because I am wanting to follow a career path into the medical field.
ReplyDeleteI signed up for college prep in hope that I would be able to become a better writer, and so that I could write at a faster pace. I know in college you have to write a lot, therefore I don't want to fall behind. I hope I don't fall behind in the reading for this class. I am applying to many colleges and am looking at playing basketball there. Some of the few I am looking at are Simpson University, Pacific University of Oregon, and George Fox. At the moment I am interested in Nursing, but who knows we will see where that will take me.

I choose to take college prep English because I wanted an English class that would help me prepare for college level English. I hope to learn how to improve my writing skills for college. I am not the best writer so I hope to learn how to continue to improve them this year. Also, this year I hope to learn how to write essays at a faster pace because it can take me a while to write just one essay. My future goal is to be an elementary school teacher. I love to work with children and I always felt that being a teacher was what I was meant to do. My dream college would be either Loyola Marymount University or University of San Diego. Both of these are in California and that is where I want to live but other schools that interest me include: Seattle University, Western Washington, and Gonzaga University.

I signed up for College Prep because it seemed to be the middle in regards to preparing me for life after high school and difficulty between AP Literature/English and Contemporary Issues. I honestly am not hoping to do rigorous studies on how to analyze texts, discover meanings written into classic literature, or the likes, I simply want to learn how to write the perfect college essay, I want to learn how to succeed in a college English class and write essays to my fullest potential. My plans for future seem to be much diffrent than most of the students in my class from what I have read so far. Instead of jumping on the bandwagon and going to college for four years and earing "some kind of business degree," I would rather attend a nice, well rounded college for 2-4 years, earn either an associates or bachelors degree and continue schooling through the CIA, the Culinary Institute of America. I've always been fascinated by cooking; it's the one hobby I can say that I would enjoy doing for the rest of my life. I don't plan on working incredibly hard to get accepted into a well know, high end school like the University of Washington; maybe somewhere like WWU or a private school like the University of Portland would be good enough for me.

ReplyDeleteI chose to take college prep english because I know I'm not the strongest at essay writing which I discovered last year in Pre AP English and I knew that I needed to get prepared for college. I really hope this year I build a better base on skills I will need in college such as essay writing. I would certainly not want to fall behind and do poorly in this class because I want to try and work my hardest so it will be just that much easier in college. To be honest I have no clue what I want to do in the future major wise but I do know that I want to apply to Western and UW then decide from there where I want to go.
I decided to sign up for college prep english because I plan on taking english classes in college. In this class I want to learn to how to write better essays that will get be ahead at the college level. I don't want to have a lot of reading every night, because I mostly want to learn about my writing. In the future I plan on going to a four year college. My college options are the University of Washington, Westen, Gonzaga, and Portland University. I think that I will major in business, or maybe communications.
ReplyDeleteI signed up for College Prep English to improve my writing and prepare myself for the rigor of reading and writing at the college level. In this class, I hope that I will become a better writer and also a more in-depth reader. However, I hope not to be bombarded with reading every night in this class. After high school, I plan to attend college. I am most likely going to apply to the University of Washington, Washington State University, UC San Diego, USC, the University of Arizona, and possibly a few others. I am not yet sure what I will major in, but I'm leaning towards something in medicine or in music.

I didn't really sign up for this class, as the core English class couldn't fit. So I'm in college prep mostly to get my 4th year of English out of the way. I'd like to get my essay's better, mostly for conclusions cause I'm terrible at endings. Yet, I hope we don't write a ton of essay's, because I truly don't like them. I've thought about majoring in something like Computer Graphics or Computer Programming to do something with game design, yet I need to find collegs that offer those majors.
ReplyDeleteWill Quattlebaum
I signed up for college prep because it seemed like the best fit for me. The challenge was there and honestly, the other classes didn't intrigue me (other than debate and creative writing which I took sophomore year). I hope that this class will just prepare me for college English classes which is something I that should happen given the classes name. Something that I really don't want to happen in this class is for me to earn a poor grade. My plans for the future are to go to college and play football. The colleges that I plan on applying to are the ones that give me full-ride scholarship offers. At this point, that includes Washington State, Army, Idaho, Wyoming, and Air Force. I hope that this list expands as the football season goes on but we'll see I guess. When I get to one of those schools, I'm not really sure exactly what I want to major in but I'm thinking it will probably be somewhere in the field of business or prelaw. I'm just looking forward to it and can't wait.

ReplyDeleteI chose to take this class because I asked Mr. Molitor what class I should take and he recommended this one. My counselor, my parents and my sister also "recommended it." By recommended I mean forced me to take this class. Mostly because it looks good on a college application. I hope to learn that writing shouldn't feel like a chore or a burden because I have a hard time expressing myself and opinions when doing so. I hope that I won't fail the class I also hope it won't end up being another dull english class where students use the teachers voice as a melody to rock them to sleep. I don't really have plans or know what college I want to attend. All I know is that I want to learn more after I graduate and that I like not being sure about where or when that will occur. At the moment I sort of feel like majoring in political science, but I can't say I will still want to a year from now.

ReplyDeleteI signed up for this class because I want to get into college really bad and figured what better way to set yourself up than to take a class preparing you for college. I was hoping to learn a fool proof way to get into college, to be taught all about administration, and different colleges. I thought it would basically send me to college. I hope I wont end up regretting this decision (which I already don’t, I love this class). My plans for the future is to go two years to a community college then get rockin grades to get into a four year university and become a writer/editor/publisher. I don’t know what college I’m applying to yet, I kind of want to do one out of state so I have no distractions so I might go to Alaska because that would be free for me. I’m pretty sure I’ll major in some form of writing.
